Within our Corporate Human Resources team located in Denver – Leprino is seeking an Associate Director of Safety. At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $133,000 and $163,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 10%.

  • The Associate Director of Safety provides the strategy, leadership, direction, and functional/technical expertise to enable us to achieve our vision is To Be the World’s Safest Food Company Driven by the World’s Safest Employees.
  • The incumbent partners with leaders in Operations, Technical Services, Quality Execution, Human Resources, and our manufacturing plants to develop, maintain, and implement our Company safety programs and processes.
  • This position leads and manages the corporate safety team and the overall Company safety function.
  • Serves as the Company subject matter expert for OSHA General Industry and Construction standards, incident and injury prevention techniques, and safety engagement standard methodologies.
  • Collaboratively sets priorities and manages the Corporate Sr. Safety Professional and Denver Safety Professional.
  • Provides dotted-line functional leadership and technical development to the Plant Safety Professionals.
  • Facilitates Senior Safety Steering Committee and provides safety representation in Operations and Technical Services meetings.
  • Establishes and/or maintains Company safety policies and programs for applicable OSHA standards, contractor safety, and areas of significant risk.
  • Manages contractor safety processes for pre-screening, field auditing, and safety accountability.
  • Provides primary technical support and guidance for HazMat and Emergency Response programs.
  • Partners with Maintenance Operations and Technical Services on technical/specialized safety programs such as Process Safety Management (PSM), combustible dust, electrical safety, and large construction project safety.
  • Analyzes injury and serious near miss investigations and corrective actions.
  • Conducts formal cross functional reviews for significant incidents.
  • Develops and drives “hearts and minds” inspired safety promotional programs to advance the personal value of safety and strengthen individual responsibility and commitment.
  • Enhances people-based safety initiatives such as behavior-based safety, safety engagement teams, and frontline safety leadership
  • Conducts annual formal plant safety audits to evaluate culture, regulatory compliance, programs, training, and safe working conditions. Tracks and reports on corrective actions.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelors in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, or similar programs.
  • Eight years of progressive safety experience culminating in a safety leadership role.
  • Multi-site safety oversight and support experience in an industrial environment.
  • The ability to work a weekly 3/2 (office/home) hybrid schedule.
  • The ability to travel overnight up to 50%.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • An MS in Occupational Safety and Health or similar programs.
  • CSP or CIH certifications.
