Job Description

The successful candidate will oversee the Global Ergonomics program for The Company.  The Global Ergonomics Leader will partner with regional and site EHS personnel to implement effective ergonomic practices throughout the divisions.  The Leader will coordinate the implementation of procedures and practices to achieve regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement and create a spirit of innovation. The candidate must also model a strong compliance mindset, drawing on prior EHS and/or manufacturing experiences to leverage as a basis for action.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop policies, procedures, tools, and training programs to improve ergonomic practices and reduce injuries.
  • Provide support and expert advice to division and sites in the control of ergonomic hazards for manufacturing, research and office personnel.
  • Make recommendations for changes in work environments based on interpretations and principles of professional practice.
  • Assist in the evaluation and interpretation of current international, federal, and industrial ergonomic regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on basic and complex ergonomics challenges.
  • Conduct ergonomic program reviews at company facilities both international and domestic.
  • Audit records and prepare supporting data for required government, industry and management reports.


Minimum Education Requirements

  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, or related field.
  • CIH, CSP, PE or Lean Sigma preferred
  • Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) strongly recommended.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 10 years practical experience in ergonomics required; additional experience with safety programs including Industrial Hygiene, Biosafety, and/or Radiation Safety is desired.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or other related industry.
  • Strong communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Vision and sound judgement combined with a willingness to influence and offer new ideas.
  • Builds and cultivates collaborative relationships with peers and clients across the network.
