Our client, Orora Packaging, is recruiting for a Corporate EHS Director in Buena Park, CA, job 1482 at consentiumsearch.com This is a full-time position as an employee of our client. This position is the top EHS role with their US operations and is housed in their US Headquarters.

Job Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible to provide Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) leadership and strategic direction for our organization. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and implementation of companywide safety and environmental programs and initiatives to ensure the protection and safety of OPS coworkers and assets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • All potential candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Business, Industrial Management or related discipline

  • Five (5) or more years of EHS management experience, in both a manufacturing and distribution setting leading safety for multiple business groups and facilities

  • Five (5) or more years of experience with DOT, OSHA and EPA requirements

  • Demonstrated success in developing and utilizing leading and lagging KPIs resulting in driving health and safety metrics lower

  • Demonstrated success leading and managing a team of EHS professionals

Additional Preferred (not required) Competencies:

  • Bilingual English / Spanish

  • 10 or more years of EHS management experience in manufacturing and distribution environments

  • Professional Certification (GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, COSS, MSP, CSD, etc.) from a nationally recognized organization

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related discipline

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides senior management with guidance on short and long-term safety strategy, driving towards a goal of zero harm.

  • Defines organization goals and targets to measure safety performance, drive engagement and reinforce positive safety behavior.

  • Facilitates the development and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures and training programs to ensure compliance with local, State and Federal rules and regulations. Monitor regulatory changes and trends, forecasting company impacts and updating programs as necessary.

  • Assess operational risk and implement programs and initiatives to mitigate top risks.

  • Ensures corporate safety initiatives are executed across all divisions.

  • Utilizes experience and EHS technical expertise to assist business leaders and regional safety team with problem-solving and issue resolution.

  • Partners with HR and Legal functions to ensure robust incident investigation and management process, including proactive management of worker’s compensation claims and Return to Work program.

  • Leads, develops and aligns team of Regional Safety Managers and safety support personnel.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators

  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiative regarding EHS policies and programs
