Corporate Safety Director

Director Safety – Atlanta, Georgia area

Major national company in the Atlanta, GA area seeks a Corporate Safety Director with proven success managing multiple locations, fleet safety, and a staff of professionals.


  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  • Identify and appraise conditions that could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluate potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents.
  • Direct team to conduct research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of given system, operation, or process.
  • Direct and coordinate, through subordinate management personnel, activities of operations department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepare reports for information of personnel concerned.
  • Serves as the subject matter liaison with outside organizations, such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams to assure information exchange and mutual assistance.
  • Devise methods to evaluate safety program and conduct or direct the evaluations.
  • Evaluate technical and scientific publications concerned with safety management and participate in activities of related professional organizations to update knowledge of safety program developments.



  • Bachelor’s degree. Concentration in Occupational Safety and Health preferred.
  • 7 years of safety and/or risk management experience in the safety and health industry
  • 5 years of managerial experience, preferably with a remote team.
  • Safety certification is preferred.
  • Deep understanding and working knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines (i.e. OSHA compliance, fleet safety, fire safety, etc.).
  • Experience producing reports and developing relevant policies for organizations.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Willing to travel 50 - 70% of the time and work on-call.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
