Data Center Health & Safety Professional

Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is looking for an experienced and motivated Data Center Health and Safety (H&S) Professional in our San Jose, CA; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; or Seattle, WA; Cherry Hill, NJ; Valhalla, NY office location.    

The Data Center Health & Safety Professional (Mid-Senior Level) position is focused on our rapidly growing data center H&S services and will primarily perform duties associated with building, implementing, and supporting H&S programs for data centers. The role requires practical experience in interpreting and applying H&S regulatory requirement to data center environments in the fast-paced information technology sector. Our clients rank among the largest, most dynamic and rapidly growing information technology companies in the world.      

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on H&S experience in data center management and/or data center construction. The candidate should be proficient in the management of high-risk activities including electrical safety, confined space, fall protection, and material handling. The candidate should have experience evaluating and managing data center sub-contractors. The candidate must work well in collaborative environments, have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently, be detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.

 Typical job assignments may include but are not limited to:   

  • Developing, writing, and implementing H&S programs and procedures for data centers.  
  • Interfacing with data center employees and contractors to ensure safe processes are being followed and full implementation of company procedures.   
  • Conducting IH monitoring (air sampling and noise monitoring).      
  • Conducting health and safety auditing; requires an understanding of federal OSHA and EPA regulations and how they are applied within data centers.     
  • Developing compliance recommendations based on regulatory research and interpretation.     
  • Developing and presenting Health & Safety training modules.
  • Experience with e-learning development would be beneficial.      
  • Prepare proposals, project cost estimates and technical marketing materials.     
  • Participate in technical societies and organizations such as AIHA, NSC, and ASSP.     

QUALIFICATIONS   

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics, or related field.     
  • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of H&S experience in a data center environment.     
  • Must have a deep understanding of OSHA regulations and their applicability. Further understanding of NFPA, DOT, EPA, and/or international health & safety regulations is a plus.     
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS management systems such as OSHA VPP, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 is a plus.     
  • Additional safety training such as OSHA 10 or 30‐hour for Construction or General Industry, 24‐hour or 40‐hour HAZWOPER is a plus.     
  • ASP, CSP, CIH, or ARM certification or equivalent experience is a plus.     
  • Must have strong skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365.     
  • Strong organizational and communication skills     
  • Able to work independently, with an attention to details     
  • Potential employees must pass a company-paid physical examination, drug-screen and have a valid driver's license
