Division Environmental Manager

The Division Environmental Manager will be responsible for: ensuring JM manufacturing facilities are in compliance with applicable regulations, identifying and implementing programs that improve factory environmental performance, communicating environmental issues and progress to all levels in the company, mentoring and developing factory environmental staff. This position is accountable, along with plant managers, for eliminating or reducing factory environmental violations, tracking factory performance metrics, renewing and amending environmental operating permits, leading the development, implementation, and renewal of air pollution control permits and implementing new programs to address emerging regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance at all assigned facilities with all Federal, State and Local environmental regulations

  • Assist all assigned facilities with air permit applicability analysis

  • Assist all assigned facilities with air permitting projects

  • Assist all assigned facilities with NPDES permitting and compliance

  • Assist all assigned facilities with RCRA waste determinations and management

  • Assist all assigned facilities with EPCRA reporting and compliance

  • Develop, mentor and train environmental professionals at all assigned facilities.

  • Audit assigned facilities for environmental compliance and ensure all identified deficiencies are addressed in a timely manner

  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual metrics tracking and reporting

  • Development and delivery of training modules

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in implementing and managing environmental programs and initiatives or a master's degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience will be considered

  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and lead group environmental management programs to ensure full compliance with regulations and company requirements

  • Comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations relating to air, water, solid waste and hazardous waste management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and develop factory environmental employees

  • Ability to ensure seamless implementation of developed systems while partnering with leadership

  • Ability to work both independently and in a diverse team environment

  • Ability to develop an emissions inventory

  • Title V and/or PSD permitting experience

  • Experience developing and implementing environmental training programs

  • EPCRA reporting and compliance experience.

  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and lead group environmental management programs

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Positive attitude and demonstrated ability at building collaborative relationships

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of emission inventory development

  • NPDES permitting experience

  • RCRA permitting experience

  • Experience with environmental site assessments or remediation
