EHS Program Manager


The EHS Program Manager will be responsible for managing Amazon Logistics portfolio of Environmental Health and Safety programs. The EHS PM will serve as AMZL’s resource regarding EHS matters including advance problem solving. Develops strategies, programs, and systems in response to regulatory changes, need for compliance with existing regulations, or continuous improvement in the Environmental Health & Safety disciplines. Provides compliance information, compliance management, and regulatory interpretation to Delivery Stations and Sr Leadership. To fulfill compliance and risk mitigation responsibilities, this role partners closely with internal cross functional stakeholders to communicate, secure, support and inform the business of EHS compliance risks. The EHS Program Manager- must successfully support NA AMZL for EHS compliance programs, this includes scheduling audits, conducting recordkeeping audits; supporting workplace inspection activities, collection and dissemination of safety data. The EHS Program Manager must have excellent communication skills, strong environmental and OSHA regulatory knowledge, demonstrated success in program development and project management, and experience leading disperse teams in complex and technical projects.

Primary Responsibilities
· Understanding EHS data, information and programming (e.g. EHS laws, regulations, industry best practices).
· Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure information on EHS policies are communicated, implemented and executed.
· Provides leadership, support, and technical assistance for the development, implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, management systems and policies/procedures
· Develop environmental and safety metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance.
· Conduct thorough and accurate audits to drive continuous improvement.
· Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
· Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
· The role will require periodic travel to Amazon facilities across the Americas to complete these responsibilities.


Basic Qualifications
· Completed Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering or related field of study
· Experience with EPA and OSHA regulations
· Minimum of 10 years of experience serving as an EHS technical resource, EHS program specialist, or EHS program manager
· Broad knowledge of US safety and environmental regulations and programs
· Experience leading change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization
· Excellent organizational and project management skills
· Strong interpersonal skills: excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levels
· Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems


Preferred Qualifications
· Have or working towards CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with senior leaders inside and outside the company
· Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization
· Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
