Position Summary:
Meet company’s primary goal of providing a safe working environment for employees.  Reduces hazards and risks which to prevent injury, illness, property loss, productivity loss and associated costs.  

Essential Functions: 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor corporate EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure that organization complies with current Federal, State and local regulations
  • Maintain records
  • Conducts or coordinates frequent safety meetings for all shifts
  • Develops and conduct New Miner Safety training and Annual Refresher training in accordance with MSHA requirements
  • Coordinate internal and/or external EHS training in accordance with master schedule; make recommendations for additional training
  • Perform comprehensive safety/health evaluation (MSHA) audits 
  • Performs environmental inspections and files annual reports
  • Ensures satisfactory completion of EHS compliance tickets
  • Conduct and document accident and near miss investigations
  • Develop technical ability of all facility personnel; coordinate with others who have EHS responsibilities
  • Participate in regulatory inspections
  • Adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department, and as required by ISO.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 Job Requirements and Skill Sets:

  1.  Associate degree in safety, industrial hygiene
  2. 3 years of EHS experience, preferably in mining/manufacturing
  3. Working knowledge of MSHA standards and familiarity with ACGIH / ANSI / NIOSH / NFPA / NEC / OSHA codes and guidance documents
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  5. Excellent presentation, interpersonal and mentoring skills
  6. Proficiency with computer applications
