EHS Specialist

 Position Summary

Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

Summary: Ensures Regeneron's compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
•Provides technical insight and planning related to regulatory compliance and program implementation.
•Develops EHS training content for online, on the job training and class room training sessions and performs training as necessary.
•Conduct and documents inspections of work areas and support areas.
•Recognize and correct EHS issues.
•Develops and conducts training for employees on safety related policies and procedures as required.
•Performs EHS risk assessments, ergonomic assessments, responsible for implementing corrective actions resulting from these assessments.
•Performs Industrial Hygiene monitoring of laboratory and support personnel to interpret data and determine potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
•Performs EHS audits of labs, support areas and offices, works with other parts of the organization to address any problems found.
•Works as liaison with contractors performing construction activities onsite.
•Writes clear and concise safety related communications, including e-mails, letters, policies and procedures as required.
•Interact with regulatory agencies including but not limited to OSHA, DEC, County and Town.
•Provides updates and develops content for the EHS RON Page as well as EHS communications.
•Assist in training of new hires on EHS rules and expectations.
•Works closely with other IOPS locations.
•Completes accident reports, conducts accident investigations and investigates trends.
•Participates in professional development training and activities.

Education and Experience:

Specialist:


•Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years EHS experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical industry. Significant relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirement.


Sr Specialist:

•Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6-9 years of EHS related experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical industry. Significant relevant experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
