Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor

Northeast, Indiana

Position Summary: The EHS Supervisor reports to the General Manager and will be responsible for interacting with all teammates to ensure plant understanding of and compliance with federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations. Approximately 75% of the position responsibilities are focused in environmental compliance, reporting, and training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The position develops and provides applicable training, reports key regulatory requirements, participates in corporate environmental and safety initiatives and is responsible for water treatment operations.
  • Management and oversight of facility’s air (Title V), wastewater discharge, and other environmental programs/permits.
  • The position works in conjunction with the safety coordinator, who reports to the EHS Supervisor, to schedule/drive environmental and safety team activities, on site health services, public outreach initiatives and maintains environmental and safety related records.
  • Safety is the most important part of all jobs within the company, therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Education and experience required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering, or related discipline is required.
  • 5 years related environmental experience directly employed in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Title V program and permit management and reporting.
  • Previous environmental compliance and safety experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI and other regulatory standards.
  • Working knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment systems and discharge reporting requirements.
  • Leadership experience.
