Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager
Location:  Fremont, CA, US

About our group:
We are seeking a EH&S Manager to manage our Gold LEED-certified Fremont product-design campus. Our Fremont, CA campus drives innovation, bringing together a diverse set of engineering, design, operations, support and administrative teams. The site is equipped with state-of-the-art clean room and lab space.

Through the EH&S programs that are implemented throughout our organization, we can be assured that our employees and contractors work safely and integrate EH&S procedures and practices into daily work activities, projects, and programs

About the role - you will:

  • Be responsible for the development, planning and implementation of environmental health and safety policies and procedures
  • Manage and partner with facility management in conducting job hazard analysis and equipment risk assessments
  • Manage the incident investigation program and provide direction and support to site management
  • Assist in monitoring contractors and construction activities to ensure safe work practices are being followed
  • Coordinate site emergency response activities and training
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety
  • Handle all contact with appropriate agencies
  • Develop and oversee EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) training programs
  • Promote employee awareness on matters of health and safety
  • Interface with equipment engineering on new equipment design reviews and risk assessments for conformance or compliance modifications
  • Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist
  • Manage exempt/professional employees responsible for developing and/or administering ongoing work processes
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to subordinate professionals
  • Develop, modify, and execute policies that effect immediate operations, with the potential for company-wide effects
  • Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
  • Implement strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
  • Regularly interact with executive management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
  • Effectively coordinate actions and programs with multiple departments and teams to achieve specific plans and goals
About you:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership

  • Proven track record of increasing scope and responsibility
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, and develop specific and deliberate ways to improve
Your experience includes:

  • Environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements, programs and methods
  • Understanding of requirements of certified management systems related to environmental, safety and health
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local safety and environmental laws and regulations. (OSHA, EPA, DOT, FAA, etc., and other applicable local requirements)
  • EHS management system implementation, risk assessment, supervision, planning, scheduling, budgeting, project report preparation
  • Performing EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) audits
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience

You might also have:

  • Knowledge of Laser Safety, Radiation Safety, and Robotics Safety standards (ANSI, RIA, ASTM, IEC, UFC, OSHA, etc.) desired
  • Knowledge of SEMI S2, S8, S10 standards
