Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Job Description

  • Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative leadership to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and MESH requirements.
  • Chooses fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of managing natural resources and waste.  
  • Continuously identifies, assesses, and reduces/eliminates EHS risk (including security).
  • Continuously deploys methods of reducing the environmental footprint. 
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data. 
  • Complies with Eaton’s ethics policy and keeps management informed of issues associated with regulatory compliance.
  • Provides for timely EHS training of employees. Encourages employee involvement in EHS activities.
  • Investigates incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and prepares/directs corrective action plans.
  • Plans to deal with emergency situations that could adversely impact the environment, employees, or the community.
  • Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world-class performance.
  • Primary communicator of EHS messages to employees and management.


  • Bachelor degree in environmental science or related discipline is required.
  • 5+ years direct responsibility for an EHS Management System in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferably gained in the manufacturing sector of multi-national companies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, strong training/mentoring skills.
  • Good command of oral and written English.
