Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

SouthWest Water has a current opportunity for a talented manager to join its Environmental, Health, and Safety department. As the Manager of the EHS function for our Texas line of business, you will be responsible for ensuring Safe and Compliant Operations across all water and wastewater sites in Texas.

The EH&S Manager leads the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures with a continuous improvement mindset. We need a hands-on professional who will partner with Operations leadership on ensuring compliant operations and a safe environment for all employees as we continue on our growth path. 

Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, track and document compliance with the Texas Administrative Code   
  • Audit safety and water utility projects to ensure compliance by reviewing existing practices, performing analysis, and developing corrective action plans where needed 
  • Provide assistance on compliance issues at troubled water and wastewater systems
  • Provide technical assistance on and capital improvement plans and business development efforts  
  • Prepare periodic reports for staff; reviewing activates and metrics for ongoing and planned projects    
  • Maintain an organized, methodical documentation system for communicating, implementing, and managing the company's safety program   
  • Implement all company Standard Operating Procedures to all sites in Texas  Manage all reporting, permitting, and correspondence with Texas Water Development Board and Groundwater District entities   
  • Track and maintain wastewater permitting renewal applications

Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of prior experience in EH& S compliance, preferably in a field operations environment. Good working knowledge of environmental compliance and safety regulations. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal. The ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels of the organization.  SAP experience are a strong plus.
