The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plans, develops, organizes, coordinates and administers the safety and occupational health program of personnel, materials, equipment and environments resulting in a reduction of incidents and associated costs, while maintaining the efficiency of the organization.  

Focusing with a people first mentality, this role serves as specialist in safety by developing and carrying out procedures that effectively control occupational injuries and illness in the organization while minimizing, if not eliminating regulatory compliance liabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the STOP/BBS program
  • Facilitates and Tracks OSHA compliance training and associated documentation
  • Facilitates and manages the Site Safety Committee Program
  • Prepares and distributes weekly safety metrics
  • Facilitates, Leads and Reports on safety inspection process
  • Ensures annual compliance activities are performed and documented associated to, but not limited to:
  • Ensures compliance with Powered Industrial Vehicle Program Requirements
  • Conducts new hire safety orientations
  • Conduct s contractor orientations
  • Ensures all SDSs are compliant and current
  • Serves as the liaison with local municipality departments and health care providers
  • Works directly with corporate environmental team for operational permitting and compliance related concerns

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Control, Industrial Hygiene or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience with Behavioral Based Safety
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
  • Ability to lead, offer ideas and direction, teach and coach others
  • Strong problem resolution skills and the ability to effectively respond to questions, concerns and complaints from department leaders, internal customers and coworkers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Attention to detail
  • Multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Independent Self-Starter/Team Payer
  • Computer Skills-Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Internet
  • Mathematical Skills:  Logical/Analytical, Percentages, Fractions, Moderate Algebra
  • Communication Skills-Advanced English: speaking, writing and reading


  • Bilingual: Spanish preferred
  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • CSP certification
