Global EHS and Construction Manager

Position Summary:  The Global EHS Operations & Construction Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day EHS compliance across the company.  

The company owns and operates a diverse and growing portfolio of electricity generation and distribution businesses, which provide reliable, affordable energy to customers in 15 countries. The company understands that a reliable, affordable supply of electricity is essential to human progress, economic growth, public health and security. Their power plants encompass a broad range of technologies and fuel types, including coal, diesel, hydropower, gas, oil, wind and biomass. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support activities and efforts around EHS-related incidents and investigations.
  • Technical resource and adviser on global EHS standards, policies and procedures
  • Maintain and continually improve the EHS Management Systems (EMS and SMS).
  • Develop and deliver EHS related training.
  • Contribute to achieve EHS targets in support of business objectives
  • Proactively improve the quality of EHS data reporting and analysis
  • Manage all aspects of environmental compliance across global operations
  • Provide technical support to global businesses to compile EHS operating data and various reports for transmittal to government agencies and other stakeholders, for example: Hazardous Waste, Tier II, PCB, OSHA Log.
  • Implement and participate in EHS internal and external governance activities.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with environmental permits, including Air, Title V, Asbestos, UST, etc.
  • Sustainability and SEC Reporting.
  • Company online reporting, data validation and improvement.
  • Technical resource and adviser on global EHS standards, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and other requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or science-related field; advanced degree preferred. Five (5) years minimum related experience in EHS compliance in a large industrial, processing, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Power Delivery business (preferred).
  • Multi-media environmental permitting and reporting experience.
  • Multi-media environmental auditing experience.
  • Direct experience with occupational health and safety and environmental regulations
  • Additional consideration given to the following experiences: Spill remediation and SPCC, DOT regulations, PCB waste disposal, Environmental License/Certifications, Waste sampling techniques and analyses, incident investigation, Experience communicating with regulators (OSHA and EPA).
  • Passion for Environmental Health and Safety

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.   
  • Able to work supportively and collaboratively with other teams.
  • Ability to build effective relationships
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

Frequent travel, including internationally, may be required.
