Location: Eagle Mine, Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA

General Description:
To lead the industrial hygiene and occupational health programs at Eagle Mine LLC while providing support to the Health, Safety and Environmental programs as needed and appropriate. This role will function as a subject matter expert within the HSE team at Eagle Mine LLC.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and maintain industrial hygiene programs to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations as well as employee health and safety at all Eagle Mine locations
• Develop, implement and maintain the occupational health program for Eagle Mine LLC
• Develop annual IH sampling program, perform required monitoring to ensure compliance with plan, provide data interpretation and communicate results the Eagle management and workforce
• Evaluate and interpret industrial hygiene related rules and regulations as well as communicate the requirements and potential impacts to Eagle management
• Provide technical assistance in response to HSE complaints and function as the IH technical specialist as needed in an emergency situation
• Investigate reports of occupational illnesses and provide occupational health case management
• Coordinate with the environmental monitoring and permitting teams when sampling for IH overlaps with environmental requirements or supports environmental studies
• Provide support to H&S teams as needed
• Perform a technical evaluation from an IH perspective of new substances for the chemical management system (HazCom)
• Develop and present training
• Execute other duties as assigned


Education, qualifications and experience:
• BS in Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Sciences/Engineering required
• 2+ years’ experience in industrial hygiene and environmental science/engineering roles preferred
• MSHA Experienced Miner, Metal and Non-Metal, Underground Certification preferred
• MSHA instructor certification; surface and underground preferred
• Additional memberships, licenses/certifications preferred (i.e. HAZWOPER, CIH, AIHA, other)
• Demonstrated Microsoft Office Suite experience

HSEC Accountabilities:
H & S Advisors are appointed to advise General Managers and Managers in effectively managing health, safety for
the Sites or departments for which they have responsibility and to assist them where appropriate. They are also
responsible for establishing and maintaining the health and safety programs. Specifically, H & S Advisors are
accountable for:
• Assisting General Manager in developing and implementing Site health, safety and environmental
procedures that conform to the requirements of the LMC Standards and Procedures.
• Providing H & S advice, support and assistance to the Site General Manager, Managers and members of the
site management team.
• Maintaining a risk assessment process for the site(s).
• Participating in the sharing of relevant information and resources across LMC.
• Acting as a part of the corporate H & S team and assisting the SVP Projects in the further development of
corporate HSEC standards and procedures and participate in H & S audits.
• Preparing H & S reports required by the General Manager and the SVP Projects in a timely manner.
• Identifying training needs for employee groups within the operation and conducting training sessions as
required

Lundin Mining Company is responsible for determining steps required to ensure health and safety of all employees. Specifically, all employees must:
• Accept personal responsibility for HSEC
• Identify hazards unsafe conditions, unsafe actions and conditions that could result in damage to property,
injury or impacts to the environment
• Obey any instruction issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of
others
• Report, as soon as practicable to their Manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being
conformed to within their work area
• Avoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omission
• Use equipment correctly particularly that provided for health, hygiene and safety purposes
• Report all incidents
• Participate in HSEC training provided to them
