Health and Safety Coordinator

Responsible for the management and supervision of activities to ensure the safety of other employees, develop and set up safety standards for the workplace based on legal requirements and conduct training to help employees understand safety regulations and measures.


  • Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
  • Conduct safety walkthroughs and inspections in each and every department to analyze safety risks and conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis.
  • Closely work with company management to identify safety-related issues and supervise the practice of safety regulations.
  • Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident following OSHA policies and recommendations.
  • Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safety on operating machinery.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
  • Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents and all other related events.
  • Coordinate with SPR occupational nurse on training, incident reporting, associate’s treatments and recovery.
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies.


• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, health and safety, or a related field is preferred.
• Registration as a Certified Safety Professional or similar form of licensure as a safety officer.
• 2-4 years of experience on a manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Experience with PowerPoint, Excel.
• Experience with Audit Safety Software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to engage in public speaking and presentations.
• Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA.
