Regional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer- West

The Regional EHS Engineer–West, will support Morgan Corporation manufacturing and service facilities in the Western Region to ensure safe environmental working conditions for all team members. 

Position reports to the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety, which is located in Morgantown, PA.

The Regional EHS Engineer will be energized to eliminate accidents, injuries, and property loss. This role will continuously communicate a positive message and a course of action to be taken. The position will be responsible for maintaining a positive safety culture throughout the western region that will cultivate the value of safety to each individual and be practiced at every level.


  • Lead the local health and safety processes, including Leadership and Commitment, Planned Inspections, Accident/Incident Investigation – Hazard identification, prevention and control, Work Rules and PPE.  Included within these 5 top activities are:  5S, Behavior Based Safety Observations, Systematic Root Cause Analysis, Near Miss Reporting, Ergonomics Risk Assessments, Employee safety training, etc.
  • Manage the local regulatory compliance to include, but not limited to: Title V, SPCC, EPCRA, RCRA, and storm water discharge
  • Maintain polices and standards and ensure all team members are appropriately informed
  • Assist in the preparation of recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential or existing risks and hazards
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard management systems, policies, and procedures with recommended changes that reflect opportunities to eliminate workplace injuries
  • Assists the sites investigating, analyzing and reviewing near-misses and accidents to ensure proper corrective and preventative measures have been implemented
  • Assist sites in the review of injury and property damage reports, and in compliance of worker’s compensation regulations
  • Compile, analyze, and communicate metrics and KPIs via monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Develop and perform education and training classes for orientation of new team members, introduction of new topics, refresher classes, and similar functions
  • Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices
  • Study ergonomic issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 10+ years related manufacturing experience, preferably from multinational company.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to travel for training, implementation, & projects supporting three sites on the West Coast.
  • Will have the ability to work a schedule that allows completion of the job on a daily basis
  • Thorough understanding of State and Federal OSHA requirements
  • Achieved minimum designation of Associate Safety Professional by Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
  • Some engineering background a plus.

The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files,  computer printouts on occasion.
