This is how you could make an impact
You will supervise the implementation of the organization's health and safety policies and procedures so that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment and the organization complies with all current and future regulations and laws. This starts with your supervision of a team of safety professionals who conduct safety audits to identify workplace hazards and unsafe equipment, working practices, or working conditions. You will be involved with the investigation of accidents, completing and/or verifying accident reports, and liaise with specialists and health and safety authorities to identify the causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.
You will analyze, recommend and oversee changes to working conditions to ensure the occupational safety of all employees on site.  As a part of the management team, you will drive all internal safety policies and standards.  In addition, you will be tasked with educating and training the organization's workforce on health and safety to ensure they understand and comply with all safety policies and standards. This includes your selection, training, and evaluation of designated workplace safety and/or first aid officers to ensure they can perform the responsibilities of their role.
Your administrative responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, maintaining all records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern.
Who are you?
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor’s Degree.  You should have at least 5 to 7 years of industrial safety experience to include supervisory and/or managerial leadership experience.  You will be working extensively in the Microsoft Office suite alongside other internal software platforms.  A strong attention to detail is essential for success.  Root cause analysis experience, as it pertains to on the job accidents is critical.
