A large, family-owned food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to manage health & safety programs and compliance for their large (1500-employee) processing plant in the Walnut Ridge, AR area. The incumbent will be tasked with coaching and training employees in order to drive a strong culture of safety.
The role:
- Serve as the safety expert and advisor on site, working collaboratively with plant leadership
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations (OSHA, EPA)
- Develop and implement safety training for employees at all levels
- Manage the workers compensation program and serve as the liaison for any claims
- Maintain records, conduct regular audits and any incident investigations
The candidate:
- 10+ years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Safety, EHS or Industrial Hygiene
- CSP preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Hands-on, "on the floor" approach to safety management
