Trainer - Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

Miller Environmental Group is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Trainer to facilitate training programs and service both within and outside the organization. These programs include but are not limited to OSHA regulations, EPA, DOT, USCG, DHS, TSA and local regulatory requirements.  Candidate may reside within commuting distance of our Westbury, NY, Calverton, NY, Paulsboro, NJ or Harrisburg, PA offices and will travel as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Environmental Learning and Development Specialist will include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Facilitate learning activities both in-classroom and through drills/exercises to develop the skills of existing workforce, newly hired workers and client attendees
  • Coordinate training activity and calendar, schedule travel, interact with clients as needed
  • Assist in developing and coordinating training materials and manuals working with Specialists for specific details, when necessary.
  • Prepare and update training presentations in accordance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Superior presentation and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent project and time management capabilities
  • A creative individual who is also goal driven and detail oriented
  • Exemplify consistent professionalism, good humor, ethical behavior and integrity
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis (approx. 50%) between MEG sites and client sites
  • Ability to monitor training candidates during mock drills and demonstrations to ensure proper safety and health standards are being adhered to

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, M.S. a plus, or a considerable amount of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience with specialized certifications
  • Minimum 1 year experience presenting and facilitating multiple interactive training programs
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency, visual graphics design ability
  • Excellent leadership skills; good public speaker at ease moderating large groups
  • Good organizer, thorough and meticulous
  • Tabletop/Drill/Exercise Facilitator working with ICS/NIMS/PREP Programs.
  • CET/CHMM a plus
